About BEATS is a series dedicated to the passion behind music. It offers an intimate behind-the-scenes look into the world of DJs and producers — beyond releases, stages, and polished performances.
The format focuses on the moments in between: what inspires artists, how they approach music, why certain sounds matter to them, and how their environment, background, and everyday life shape their creative process. By sharing personal glimpses, About BEATS aims to make the culture more tangible, relatable, and human.
Each episode connects music with place, people, and story. In the first episode, the journey leads to Far Rockaway, where I meet @machinegunfunk. Between local food, neighborhood impressions, and studio sessions, we dive into the process behind the track “Whole Train” — showing how ideas evolve naturally through exchange and atmosphere.
The series will be released on Instagram and YouTube, with more episodes to follow — highlighting music as lived culture, not just sound.
